But it seems the thespian lifestyle is already taking it's toll on Cara Delevingne, who was spotted wearily dragging on a cigarette as filming of The Face Of An Angel continued in Perugia, Italy over the weekend.
The 21-year-old, who appeared to be in costume, was joined on set by her co-star Daniel Bruhl, who she affectionately kissed on the cheek goodbye as they headed their separate ways.
Smoking: Cara Delevingne was seen having a cigarette as filming got underway for The Face Of An Angel in Perugia, Italy
Face Of An Angel is the latest film from Michael Winterbottom, and is controversially rather loosely based on the trial of
American student Amanda Knox for the alleged murder of Meredith Kercher in 2009.
Cara will play Melanie, a young Englishwoman whom she previously described as ‘an independent spirited girl’.
‘The idea I had of her is that she’s like me and a lot of my friends who are 21 and travelling around Europe,’ she told the Daily Mail.
See you later: Cara was joined on set by Daniel Bruhl, who plays Thomas in the film
Melanie meets a film-maker, Thomas – played by Bruhl – who is going through a mid-life crisis as he prepares to make a picture about the murder of a British student in Tuscany.
He’s working alongside Simone (Beckinsale) when he meets Melanie in a bar.
‘There’s something about her that captivates him,’ Cara said. ‘It’s very innocent. He’s missing his daughter, and he’s taken by her.’
Melanie is taking an Italian cultural course, which is something the British star would also like to do: ‘Funnily enough, that’s what I’d love to do, and this part is a perfect excuse to learn Italian. I’ve picked up very little, but I’d like to learn more.’
Love interest: Cara plays Melanie - Thomas's love interest in the film
The willowy model has so far had small roles in Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina and Kids In Love, which she shot in London in the late summer, but this marks her biggest part to date.
Speaking about casting Cara director Winterbottom said: ‘As you can see, Cara’s full of energy, and she’s perfect for the part of someone who has all the possibilities of life: innocence, beauty, truth and joy.
‘Cara embodies what can be enjoyed in life. It’s what makes Thomas, in the film, understand what life is.’
In character: The actress wore a pair of slim fit jeans with a fur trimmed parka style coat
